Place of birth *COMPLETE*
« on: Tuesday 11 June 19 19:21 BST (UK) »
Looking for help with place of birth for Joan McNaughton. She was born in the district of Bothwell, Lanarkshire in 1892.
Could possibly be Uddingston or Baillieston.

It does look like Jack <something>  The 1901 has her born in Baillieston, so it's somewhere in that area  :-\

Now I've looked some more and compared the other writing, I think it is a very cramped up Baillieston

Added - I'm now not as sure  - definitely not a B compared with the other Bs.   :-\

If it's Baillieston it's not spelt with 2 't's but also the 'i' isn't dotted & he seems quite consistent with the dots on others, certainly well cramped  :-\

VRs are of no help either, the family aren't listed although the address is showing as...

64 Single Row, Thorniewood, Uddingston, Bothwell  ::)

Hi,

Found this earlier:

https://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=443119.0

It mentions Old Row/Old Single Row.

Just in case it might help...

Given you say Bothwell district and seeing as there are other instances on page of rather squashed opening M and Ns, I would say Nackerton, which includes Aitkenhead.
