« on: Wednesday 12 June 19 10:24 BST (UK) »
I am at a stage whereby I am cutting down my research.......
SO  I want to get a better deal on my Ancestry acc.  Have all access and it is due for renewal at a heck of a price --- so need to know how I can knock it down

Last year I cancelled my membership with them before it auto renewed, then hunted around for one of their offers and rejoined with out a problem. I can't remember exactly what I saved but it was a significant amount. I'm planning on doing the same this year.

Jan

Just checked it was half price

Xinia, a short while after I let my membership lapse I was invited to rejoin at 4.99 per month for 4 months. It shows how desperate they are to keep customers.

My ancestors are probably turning in their graves, not that I can actually find any of them.

I don't know if this one still works but you have to wait until your sub has expired to test it. It has been around for a few years and some people have used it more than once  ;D
https://www.ancestry.co.uk/cs/offers/subscribe?dna=crossAct

UK premium 59.99 per annum (only a penny a month dearer than Martin's deal and it lasts for a year.)
Worldwide 89.99
