Mystery Signatures
« on: Wednesday 12 June 19 21:46 BST (UK) »
Hi
I've been delighted with the response from fellow genealogists on here so I thought I'd try my luck with some more signatures.
Each signatory was an Assistant Resident in Aden at the time. Each one is identified by date.
The last one (12th April 1879) I'd guess says Merewether although Major W.L.Merewether was Resident  from 1863-7 so is it possible for him to step down to assistant?
Thanks again
Steve

Could the 2nd one be Col. W.F. Prideaux?

I think, because of this

Homeward Mail from India, China and the East 05 May 1879

That the last one must be W.P.Kennedy.  I suppose it is sort of the right shape?

W P Kennedy was actually there in 1876 too but had been granted 60 days leave when that 1876 document was signed. Blowed if I can see who was appointed to act in his place.

It sort of looks like Colquhoun, or perhaps Cunningham but neither really seem right.

There was a chap Goodfellow around, but thatís not it either,  ::)

Thanks  for your help and interest Mckha.
I have correspondence involving W.P.Kennedy, also Capt Hunter and General Francis Loch.
In the records you're consulting is there any reference to Inspector Jeremiah Sullivan?
As an aside there is also a reference to a Mr Lawrence in case he appears anywhere.
