Is Gurteenamuck near Ballina?
« on: Saturday 15 June 19 14:47 BST (UK) »
I found in the Dublin birth / baptism records what might be my ancestors Martin Loftus and Nancy Clarke as Godparents, with the child's parents being from Gurthteennamuc... (the end of the word truncated)
The record following cites Gurteenamuck.
But where is it?

Have they renumbered the roads?
I thought it was the N57 that runs south from Ballina.
Bagwell of Kilmore & Lisronagh, Co. Tipperary;  Beatty from Enniskillen;  Brown from Preston, Lancs.;  Burke of Ballydugan, Co. Galway;  Casement in the IoM and Co. Antrim;  Davison of Knockboy, Broughshane;  Frobisher;  Guillemard;  Harrison in Co. Antrim and Dublin;  Jones around Burton Pedwardine, Lincs.;  Lindesay of Loughry;  Newcomen of Camlagh, Co. Roscommon;  Shield;  Watson from Kidderminster;  Wilkinson from Leeds

They renumbered it in 1994.

Thank you, KG.  I'm still living in the past.

Was hoping to be able to scan the relevant portion of map for clogdancer,
but I don't have that sheet (otherwise I would have discovered the N26).
