I actually went to the Hayward farms at Chilton Foliat several years ago, beautiful buildings, wish the family had kept on to it!!

Sadly any money was not kept in the family as by 1911 his son Robert was working as 'attendant lavatory' in Leyton.

I have William completely wrong then - birth date 25 May 1839 by my records. So the eldest son thing does not work out!

I have Alexander at school in 1851.

The discrepancy with Ann's age is one thing I am trying to resolve.

This is another case where I did the original research 15 years ago and am just seeing holes and holes in it now, I have not recorded my sources. I know some was taken from handwritten notes by my great grandfather (Robert King) but I cannot locate the copy.

Waite, Marchant, Nash, Goddard, Pocock, Hiles, Switzer, Larondie, Harris, Radford, Monger, Harper, Harris, Sixsmith, Fitzgerald.

That death record looks like it may well be the one then - I was just cross referencing free BMD with the GRO deaths. I was looking at deaths in Hungerford as well as London.

I have the youngest child of William and Ann as George King  08 FEB 1846, again no source and I have not linked any census data, will double check.

Actually I have found the record for William King (son) I had:

William Willbe King b. 25 May 1839 bap. 13 Jun 1841 to parents William and Ann, I cannot see an obvious one on GRO to prove or disprove yet
Waite, Marchant, Nash, Goddard, Pocock, Hiles, Switzer, Larondie, Harris, Radford, Monger, Harper, Harris, Sixsmith, Fitzgerald.

William Willbee King isn’t theirs.  His parents (another William & Ann) lived at Lucas Place on his baptism in June 1841 - yours were at Seymour St, with their 14 yr old son William.
