You really are excellent at this, thank you.

I can see what I have done - I must have looked up just William King & Ann baptisms in St Pancras without looking in detail.

This is turning out to be an expensive week certificate ordering wise... I can't stop!

George King born 1846 & baptised 1847 doesn’t look like a match either.  Son of William (a costermonger) and Ann, of 20 Brunswick Buildings.

I hope you are ordering your certificates as £7 pdfs from the GRO Online, and not by any of the more costly methods!

Yep from the GRO, not all of them seem to be available in PDF format though. I have ordered eight so far this week and it's only Tuesday...

That’s good going!  Worthwhile though - too many people spend years following the wrong people for want of a modest investment in documentary evidence.

Yep from the GRO, not all of them seem to be available in PDF format though.

The 'new' GRO index isn't perfect, so if an event isn't listed there it's still worth checking FreeBMD.  Use the references from there to complete the GRO order form, like we used to do in the olden days, and the PDF option should be offered.

It is the case that not all certificates can currently be obtained as pdfs:

No marriages
Births confined to 1837-1918
Deaths confined to 1837-1957

No doubt the system will be extended in time.

Ah yes, I ought to have said '....... the PDF option should be offered, provided that the birth or death date is within the specified limits'.

(Sorry, trying to get things done quickly while the internet is dropping out every few minutes!)

Thank you all for your help with this topic - I am off out into the 'real' world for a bit, should probably get some fresh air!
