Within a year after my and my wife’s decease, my manor in Westhale called Empoles, and other property in Brampton, Ougechale [= Huggechall?] and Stovene, to go to John Brightyeve and Margaret, and then to their lawful heirs. If they die without issue, or John contravenes the conditions of his marriage settlement, then to Thomas Caus, son of Richard Caus and Elizabeth his late wife (my daughter), on certain conditions ...

I have only now had a chance to look at these extracts (after a mixed-up day yesterday).

I think there is one piece of land not mentioned above.

In the fourth line, after listing the lands to go to John and Margaret, he excepts a tenement called Chev(er)ijs? with its appurtenances in Westhale from that bequest.
