Brick wall beddows/bedoes
« on: Wednesday 19 June 19 23:09 BST (UK) »
Hi I am new to this site.
I have been doing family research for 6 years now and have hit a brick wall with the surname beddows/bedoes/bedis or similar spellings.
All info that I have been given is unverified.
Name maybe William or Henry or William Henry beddows. It is said that he was a wrestler and he died in the wrestling ring.

He went to Cornwall  but I don't know if he lived there he was there in 1877/78.

He may have lived in Somerset and apparently is buried there.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to rootschat, Chrisp17.

Who gave you the information that you have, and do you know how it fits into your family, or is he totally unrelated to any of them?

Thanks

My grit grit grandmother came from Cornwall.

She got married in 1860 and had 5 children between 1861 and 1870. Her husband died in 1873. In 1877 and 1879 she had another 2 children. The surnames of the 2 children were the same as the other 5 children.

On receiving my get grandfather birth cert. no father's name mentioned

I found some relatives from Cornwall and they gave me info. My g grandfather elder brother also had no father name on his birth cert

So is William Beddoes supposed to be the Father of those 2 illegitimate children?
What is your g/g/grandmothers full name and who did she marry in 1860.
Full names of the 2 sons born 1877/1879 please.

Trish :)
