Welcome  :)

You haven’t told us what country you’d be searching in, or what time period is likely for the marriage or birth, but if in England & Wales have you had a look for a possible marriage on FreeBMD?

NB Rootschat is for tracing deceased ancestors rather than the living so we don’t name living people on here (I know you have not done so).

Alternatively, if your father is deceased & died in Scotland his DC should name his 1st wife?

Dates & places are crucial when names are not known...e.g. when likely your father was 1st married & where & hopefully not a common name?

Ask your dad?
Give a man a record and you feed him for a day.
Teach a man to research, and you feed him for a lifetime.

Hi

WELCOME to Rootschat.

As mentioned, Rootschat is not meant for tracing living relatives.
So, please don't post details of living relatives

However, once you have made a couple more postings then the Personal Messaging system opens up for you/( & therefore us )                             [ just separately say Hi! and Thankyou!  ]

Prepare, and post to whoever responds, a summary of the family around who you are looking for.

Advice WILL come back, if not some detail

Rootschatters are all volunteers / ( even as a hobby )

Some of us are even human AND friendly

Ray
You can post that summary to me, if you wish.        :)

Look at the "Help" section where there is advice on tracing living relatives.
