On 23 July 1870 the body of George Kay was committed, by the priest, for burial in the parish cemetery.  He had died in Gross Isle, Michigan, aged 32.  Witnesses: Joseph Grondin?, John Kay.

"...décédé avant hier," died the day before yesterday, i.e. 21 July.
