Bridget Killian of WestMeath
« on: Monday 24 June 19 20:05 BST (UK) »
Hi

Wondering if anyone might have any information available or could look up...Looking for information on my GGGrandmother, Bridget Killian.  Per death certificate issued in CT in 1898, she was born in WestMeath around 1831.  She also has at least one brother named Patrick (only sibling mentioned in her obituary) who was in New York at the time of her death in 1898.  She married James Scott in WestMeath (cannot find anything on this marriage to date) and had one child, Mary baptized in Dysart, WestMeath July 2 1849.  I believe they ended up in CT around 1850.  Thank you for any assistance, I was unable to locate a marriage certificate between Bridget and James or Bridget's birth records through the usual internet channels.

non-Roman Catholic Marriages are recorded from 1845,

Civil registration of births only started in Ireland in 1864.

So, before that date, church records (if they are in existence) will need to be found, and you will need an idea of location (parish if not actual townland) and religion.
