Thanks for your reply.  Checked Ancestry.com for Mathilde (Gertrud) HÖRSTEL
Cannot find her birth on Ancestry.com
.
Found the parents marriage 19 Dec 1872 at Sachsen.  Also another birth of a Doris born 1877.
Will keep looking.  Thanks.
Also another family address after 1957 -- They laived at Hippelstrasse 25. Britz, Berlin.

Have you got a name and dates for Kathe's Mother. The only HÖRSTEL I can find is Mathilde Emilie Gertrud Hörstel, born 1874, father Carl Friedrich Adolf Hörstel,  mother Adeline Hermine Mathilde Hörstel.

Hullo,
Would sks have an Email Address fro St.Nicholas Lutheran Church ,Berlin.
It seems to be in the former eastern zone of Berlin, thought it may be worth a try to contact the Church to see if they had a record of Kathe SCHMIDT formerly Hörstel who died by suicide in the year 1973.
Hope I haven't worn out my welcome with this subject.
