How do you find children born overseas to military personel 1800s?
« on: Wednesday 26 June 19 09:24 BST (UK) »
Looking for information regarding
Mary Kieley born circa 1843.  Her father John Kieley was a soldier in 74th Regiment of Foot and it looks like he was in the East Indies for 7 years, Cape of Good Hope, South Africa and North America.
He was attested in Limerick, Ireland in 1839.  Service No. 1701
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Findmypast has a possible record:

https://www.findmypast.co.uk/search/results?datasetname=british+armed+forces+and+overseas+births+and+baptisms&firstname=mary&firstname_variants=true&lastname=keiley

Born 1846, father in the 74th.  The record say born Alexandra (sic) which is on Corfu.

I am Zoe Northeast, granddaughter of Maximilian Double.

It is with great difficulty I share with you that in the early hours of 07 August 2021, Maximilian passed away unexpectedly but peacefully.

With deep sadness,
Zoe
