Here's the obit. The print isn't real clear for age.

Edward's age in the obit looks like 54 to me
Elizabeth's age in her obit looks like 63, not 83. That may be where the confusion is.

Her ages by census and death:
Elizabeth
1870: age 24
1880: age 30
1900: age 50, born March 1850
1910: age 53
1919: age 63

Note, in 1870 she wasn't married yet to a slightly younger man, and did not have that reason to underestimate her age.

by the way, since this looks now like the right person:
1870 Census
Ward 14 New York City
household:
Peter Keever 30, a proofreader
Jane Keever, 30, keeps house
Elizabeth Audley, 24, seamstress
all born in Ireland, Peter was a citizen

Just noticed, both buried Catholic. Might help if you are looking for Elizabeth and John in Ireland.

Thanks  to RJ137 and Oldohiohome for your recent meassages.
I would agree that Edward R was 54 years old when he died and that Elizabeth was 63 when she died and not 83 as I first read it!!

In time I will go back to look at Ireland, the obit for John Joseph Audley suggests that he was born in Belfast Ireland; but before I look at Ireland I need to write up all the information you have given me from the various census records.

a few more records to keep you busy.

Elizabeth Audley was living with Peter and Jane Keever in 1870 in New York City. Jane's maiden name was Audley. I couldn't tell if she was Elizabeth's sister, cousin, or whatever. Maybe her full death record will list her parents' names. But not a real good chance in that time frame.

Jane died 5 July 1875, Manhattan, age 32, marital status unknown [according to the transcript]

"New York, New York City Municipal Deaths, 1795-1949,"
https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:2WYY-TDN

------
Jane's headstone reads:
Erected by Mary Keever in memory of her beloved parents
Peter Keever died April 8? 1884
Jane Keever died July ?, 1875
her infant brother E J Keever

https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/196491737/jane-keever

------
Here is the transcript of the death record of Peter and Jane (Audley) Keever's child, Mary, which gives Jane's maiden name:

New York, New York City Municipal Deaths
Name:, Mary Keever
Event Type:, Death
Event Date:, 09 Aug 1930

Marital Status:, Single

Occupation:, Laundress
Birthplace:, New York
Burial Date:, 11 Aug 1930

Father's Name:, Peter Keever
Father's Birthplace:, Ireland
Mother's Name:, Jame Audley
Mother's Birthplace:, Ireland

=========
If your John Joseph Audley is the John Audley who was naturalized 3 November 1888, Circuit Court, Buchanan County, Missouri
Volume A, page 438
country of birth or allegiance: England

then chasing down his petition for naturalization might tell you his county of birth, there's about a 50-50 chance.

===========
You said that John Joseph Audley may have been born in Belfast. For what it's worth, I found this for an Elizabeth Audley, but with a father named Pat:

baptized 21 September 1848
St Patrick's, Belfast
Elizabeth Audly, daughter of Pat Audly and Elizabeth Gorton. sponsor: Catherine O'Donnell

I wouldn't put a lot of stock in it, for being the right Elizabeth. Also I found no Jane or John in the baptisms in Belfast, according to ancestry.com's reading and indexing of the names.

========
If you can tie your Audley family to this one, also in Kansas City, Missouri, then you will know where yours came from.

I found this first:
1910 Census Ward 5, Kansas City, Missouri
at 4013 Belleview Avenue

Thomas Burke, 43, head, born in Ireland, arrived 1888, naturalized
Maria Burke, 37, Ireland, married 1x, for 13 years, 6 children, 6 alive, arrived 1890
Ellen, 12, Missouri
Mary, 9, Catherine 7, John W 5, Thomas M 3, Joseph P 1, all born in Missouri
John Audley, 27, brother in law, born in Ireland
Margaret Audley, 25, sister in law, born in Ireland
Richard Halloran, 22, Ireland, boarder

https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:M2Y8-F1S

------
When John and Margaret, brother and sister, arrived, they were headed to their sister Bridget's:

Arriving New York, 1 May 1902, from Queenstown, on the Lucania
John Audley, 19, single, laborer,
Maggie Audley, 17, single, servant
both: last residence: Headford, destination: sister Bridget Audley, 1016 Centre St, Kansas City, Missouri

Headford is in Galway

-------
Bridget, John, and Maggie are all at home in Galway in 1901:

1901 Census of Ireland
house 3 in Pollacullaire (Headford, Galway)

Audley, Thomas, 55, Male, Head of Family, General Labourer, Cannot read or write, speaks Irish and English, Married, -
Audley, Katie, 50, Female, Wife, House Keeper, Cannot read or write, speaks Irish and English, Married, -
Audley, Bridget, 24, Female, Daughter, Read and write, speaks Irish and English, Not Married, -

I'm pretty sure I found Bridget arriving twice, the second time with a Mary Duddy. both had been in the US and lived in Kansas City previously. This is probably Bridget's first arrival. Not very helpful to your search overall, but here it is anyway:

Arriving 10 October 1894, from Liverpool and Queenstown, aboard the Teutonic

Bridget Audley, 19, servant, last residence: Headford, destination: Kansas

Maria (Audley) Burke's death certificate, tying her to the same family: died 2 November 1926, K C Missouri

born May 10, 1874, Ireland
parents: Thomas Audley and Catherine Leonard
informant: Thomas Burke

-------
sister Katherine, also in Galway in 1901, also died in Kansas City:

Catherine M Audley, of 4155 Holly, d February 25, 1925
single, age 34y 1m 19d, b January 6, 1891, in Ireland
father Thomas Audley
mother: Catherine Leonard
informant: Mrs Jerry Clifford, same address

-------
Unfortunately, after all that, I couldn't tie the second family to yours, except that they were both in Kansas City, Missouri. Maybe they shared a common address in the city directories, or an obituary will name one or the other.

Also unfortunately, there are no baptism records before 1880 microfilmed for Headford Parish, aka Killursa and Killower, which you  would need if your Audley family is from the same place as the children of Thomas and Katherine (Leonard) Audley.

Also unfortunately, Elizabeth Audley Burke died at a hospital in Kansas City, Kansas, and Kansas is a lot harder to get certificates from than Missouri. see:

http://www.kdheks.gov/vital/genealogy.html
You need to be at least a cousin to get the record.

Hi RJ137 & olsohiohome.

Many thanks for your last messages.

As far as I am aware there were two, apparently separate, Audley Families that appear to have lived in Kansas City at around the same time. Families stories are that each of the Audley Families knew of each other, through work, although were not related. I have a lot of information about the Audley Family  that descends from Thomas Audley & Catherine Leonard from Galway in Ireland. I am now trying to work up the information about the other Audley Family that were the subject of my original message.
The thing that stands out to me is that in the 1910 census of 4013 Bellview the head of the family is a Thomas Burke it would be interesting if that Thomas Burke was in some way related to the Edward Burke who married Elizabeth Audley in 1877 then we may have a link.

I have been at a Family Birthday this evening so have not been able to look at all your information in detail.

When I suggested this, I didn't realize that your John Audley was still in St Joseph, Missouri, in 1910. Thomas Burke arrived in 1888 and was boarding in Kansas City, MO, in 1891. When the younger John and Maggie Audley arrived, they went to Thomas Burke's in Kansas City, not to the older John Audley in St Joseph.

So it's a dead end there.
