Bright Street is still there - though I presume the pub isn't
has anyone any idea how I can find out the name of the pub please ?

??   I don't see the relevance in that - the fathers name was Henry and he ran a pub from 1 bright street ,Everton ,Liverpool - I have gone back to 1821 with the family in Everton but just wondered what the name of the pub was - I have the father  and mother of the 1821 baptism but stop there ..

I just thought if I knew a date I could search the newspapers around that period more thoroughly. From what I have seen so far there are lodgings to be had at that address, But they always say 1 Bright Street, never a name.

It wasn't a pub in any record I have found, but if you can tell us the year of the baptism (and ideally the publican's name) it would help to focus the research.

This for example is the 1873 Directory listing. No pub at number 1, but there is one at 23:
