Trying to Prove if I have the correct Alexander Walker
« on: Sunday 30 June 19 09:45 BST (UK) »
Alexander is shown on his son George's marriage certificate to Harriet Smith 11/6/1859 as a Toll Keeper. Alexander was a partner of Mary Daniel but they never married. The family appear to have lived around the Cruden Parish. I have an Alexander b 29/1/1801 but can't actually prove this is the correct Alexander. Are there any records of toll keepers early 1800's available ???
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Welcome to RootsChat :)

Are we talking about Cruden Bay in Aberdeenshire?  There are many members here with in-depth knowledge of Scottish records (not me unfortunately!) if that's what you're looking for.

Hi , welcome to RC  :)

Was George's father still alive at the time of the marriage ?
FreeCEN has an Alexander Walker , Tollkeeper , on the Aberdeenshire Census 1841 & 1851 , but he was born C1780.
