Could any member help as I draw a blank in tracing my Mothers Family.
Ann Hooley was born 1863 and passed away in 1949. in the district of Portwood Stockport.
Ann Hooley was my Mothers mother She married Edward walsh in 1890
Ref 89-8.
She later Married again in 1922 to Frank Kay ( No Connection to my Fathers Family who were Kayes) ref 89-139
Ann and Edward Walsh had two children Ann Veronica Walsh ( My Mother ) and Mary Walsh

This information was from my late Brothers records .the ref numbers are show as page numbers.

You need more than a page number to reference events.
I've gone through to see if the list makes sense

Deaths Dec 1949    Kay    Ann    86y    Stockport    10a   522 Now discredited

Dec 1922 marriages(s)
KAY    Frank    Walsh    Stockport    8a   139
WALSH    Ann    Kay    Stockport    8a   139
CheshireBMD:
KAY *   Frank   HOOLEY   Ann   Stockport Civil Marriage or Registrar Attended   Stockport
KAY *   Frank   WALSH   Ann   Stockport Civil Marriage or Registrar Attended   Stockport

There is a 1904 marriage, but groom surname is "off". It also implies she was not previously wed.
Cheshire Marriage indexes for the years: 1904
HOOLEY   Ann   WELSH   Edward   Stockport Civil Marriage or Registrar Attended   Stockport   STR/66/45

When was Ann Veronica allegedly Born?

I can't find "your" 1890 marriage referenced anywhere
Closest I get is March qtr 1890, but wrong forename & wrong husband
HOOLEY   Mary Ann   WOOD   Isaac   Cheadle, St Mary   Stockport   ST65/16/492

nor can I spot the birth reg for ann veronica Walsh ??

Edwrd and Ann are in Stockport in1911 stating that they have been married for 13 years and have 5 children, all living.(RG14PN21398 RD443 ED13)

The children are
Edward c1899
Walter c1900
James 1903
Joseph 1906
Annie 1908

I cannot find birth refs for Edward and Walter but James, Joseph and Annie all have mmn Hooley.

Ann's year of birth is given as 1878 and the GRO site has

Ann Hooley Mar 1878 Stockport 8a 60 mmn Hayes

In the 1901 Census Ann's brother Willie is living with the family(RG13/3298/F25/p41)

GRO Ref
William Hooley Sep 1882 Stcokport 8a 45 mmn Hayes

The 1939 Register also supports Ann's birth registration of 1878 so not sure where your brother got his info from even though age at death does imply a birth year of 1863.

The only Edward and Ann Walsh I can find in Stockport in 1901/1911 shows Ann as bc.1878 (not 1863) and records show marriage took place c.1898.

However, like PaulineJ, I cannot find a marriage nor is there a birth for an Ann Veronica Walsh.

However, an Ann V Walsh married a Frederick Kaye Sept.qtr.1930 Stockport and if this is her she appears to have been born 8/2/1908 as plain Ann Walsh, mmn Hooley, in Mar.qtr.1908 Stockport.  Mary Walsh birth reg'd Dec.1913 Stockport, mmn Hooley.   However, Ann and Mary had a number of older brothers.

Ann Kay, formerly Walsh, nee Hooley is said to have been born 9/12/1877 and her death is reg'd Sept.qtr.1955 Stockport.
