George Softley and Eliza Browne
« on: Monday 01 July 19 11:01 BST (UK) »
George and Eliza Married in Thetford in 3rd Q. 1867.
Does anyone have access to the parish records as I need to find out who Eliza's parents were. Any associated names like witnesses.
Hoping I do not have to buy the certificate, as this may not be my Eliza.
Many thanks for any help

It's Softly, not Softley on freebmd.

The other 1867 marriage:
George Softley & Emily Franklin
08 Apr 1867   @ Whinbergh, Norfolk, England

what details would make Eliza Browne "your" Eliza Browne?
1871 census?  (from Familysearch)
George Softley   Head   Male   21   Hingham, Norfolk
Eliza Softley   Wife   Female   23   Croxton, Norfolk
George Fredk Softley   Son   Male   3   Thetford, Norfolk
William Softley   Son   Male   0   Thetford, Norfolk

SOFTLEY, GEORGE  FREDERICK     BROWNE 1868  M1/4 in THETFORD UNION  Volume 04B  Page 413
SOFTLEY, WILLIAM       BROWNE  1871  M1/4 in THETFORD UNION  Volume 04B  Page 419

Just speculating

There was a Mihaly Brown baptised 30/5/1841 in East Wretham parents Thomas Brown(labourer) and Hannah

On 30 Dec 1838, 6 Jan and 13 Jan 1839 Banns were read for Thomas Brown and Hannah Dixon both single and both of the parish of West Wretham

Thanks for everyones help so far.
I have Eliza with her parents and siblings in Census. What I am trying to find out is whether she was the Eliza Browne that married George Softley/Softly in Thetford in 1867. So Parish marriage details hopefully will have her parents, or just her father, who should be be Thomas Browne (he was born 1817 at Croxton), and his wife was Hannah Dixon.
Regards
