Prudence Myfanwy Maxfield's death missing on Ancestry
« on: Monday 01 July 19 13:25 BST (UK) »
Prudence Myfanwy Maxfield, born 22 November 1921, died 2Q 2005 Isle of Wight according to GRO death registration on FindMyPast.
Can anyone, though, find the death on Ancestry. I cannot and neither can my friend who found it on FindMyPast for me. Have tried every possible keyword/combination.

If it is missing, is it a blip or part of a much bigger loss? Now there is no printed page to refer to, o way to easily check?

thanks
John

You can do a rough count of entries by using no names in Ancestry's search.

I don't know the registration district number /pages that you say Prudence is on
All census look up transcriptions are Crown Copyright http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/

I don't see it and no details for Isle of Wight*, Q2, 2005. The full details are on FindMyPast, as you say.

* add - or Hampshire but I of Wight was Unitary Authority from 1995:

Hi,

I also can't find it at Ancestry and you may have seen this already, but just in case  :)

http://www.rootschat.com/links/01nzp/

This shows the ref as C1A/E211

You can order the certificate using the link, it costs £11 the same as the GRO site.

The FindMyPast entry has the reference,

Register number   C1A
Entry number   211

So it does seem correct.

Regards,
Dasiy

You may already have this information but according to the Probate Index she died on 24 June 2005, probate granted 17 August 2005.

Thanks. I have all the details, I just wondering if we had made a mistake and missed it on Ancestry. Obviously not.

I emailed the Ancestry helpline or whatever last night an got this reply:
"Hi John. I'm Karen, a Directly Ancestry Expert. We are experienced Ancestry users that assist with answering questions
You can access it by going to Search and selecting Birth, Marriage and Death.
https://www.ancestry.co.uk/search/collections/onsdeath93/"

i wonder if she even looked at the results, as there is only a 1930 and a 1984 death there as far as i can see. But then I never really expected a reply which actually dealt with the problem.

Thanks for your help with this
John
