Welcome.
If they moved to the US in "around the 30's" then they should appear on the 1940 census.
What state were they in, what exactly does it say for each family member on that census?

Do you know:
when any of these people died,
where they were, and
what age they were thought to have been at death?

TELL us what these details are.
Pauline

I can only find FIVE Guennel born in Germany in the 1940 census - Could Felix have chaged his name ? Eugene b 1893 is the only one old enough to have fought in WW1  UNLESS KURT DID AGE 16 IN 1919 ??
bit of a puzzle -

A quick search reveals U.S. World War II Army Enlistment
Erwin F Guennel, born 1920
Erwin F Guennel was born in 1920, at (place not available to non-subscribers  )
Erwin lived , Ohio (presumably at enlistment time)

https://www.myheritage.com/names/erwin_guennel

and from SSDI (free index)

Erwin Guennel
Birth:   Jan 15 1920
Death:   July 1987
Last residence:   Bay Village, Ohio 44140, USA

1930 census entry: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:X4S1-3WY?from=lynx1UIV8&treeref=LTVB-H5G

According to that 1930, they entered the US in 1926, having wed around 1914 (16 years before 1930)
Henry Ott (emily's brother?) Entered 1922

The 1930 Father (Born 15 Dec 1886) dies 1936. His father stated as Alvin Guennel

By 1940, I think Emilie (nee Ott) has re-married.
