Two Marriages, Same Couple, Adjacent Parishes

While discussing the spelling of the bride's name in the Stanhoe register in the handwriting thread I discovered what appears to be a second marriage just two days later at Burnham Overy for the same couple and wondered how/why that would have happened. The entries (available on Ancestry) are:

1. At Stanhoe with Barwick: Benjamin Bell farmer & Mary Steflin both of Stanhow [sic] were married in the parish church of Stanhow 11 May 1695.

2. At Burnham Overy: Beniaman [sic] Bell of Stannow [sic] and Mary Stiffling of this (parish) were married 13 May 1695.

So clearly the same couple even if the names and parishes are a bit garbled. Stanhoe and Burnham are small Norfolk parishes approximately 4 miles apart. 11 and 13 May 1695 were a Wednesday and a Friday FWIW.

I could have posted this in the Norfolk thread, but thought that it is a more general question suitable this thread.

Are you looking at transcriptions?
What's the source(s)? (BT's original register, other record(s)?)

I wonder whether the second entry did not refer to a second ceremony but rather was merely a noting of a parishioner having married (information of the 11 May marriage having been provided to her home parish)?

No not transcriptions or BTs. Both are the original handwritten registers.

Maybe, although the wording doesn't reflect this and if that was the case it seems unusual to me having never seen something similar. Also, in the 11 May entry at Stanhoe it doesn't mention that she was of Burnham Overy (quite the opposite, it said she was of the parish) so it would appear odd that Stanhoe should report it to Burnham Overy at all.
