Not all that relevant perhaps, but Patrick Tarpy married Margaret Cahellon (sic) on 9th February 1823 at Laughlin, Roscommon.  So there would be several children born before Patrick junior.

Good Morning,

I thought you may be interested in my latest findings, courtesy of Patrick TARPY's Death Certificate.

He died of Strumous Disease of Vertibrae at the Dudley Road Workhouse on 16/09/1859, the informant being one Fanny GILES, presumably an employee of the Workhouse.   No relatives are mentioned, but his occupation is described as a Glass Cutter, which more or less confirms his identity as the person I have been researching.
