Block a Forum Threads
« on: Thursday 04 July 19 10:55 BST (UK) »
I have absolutely no interest in a particular forum. Is it possible to block ALL posts in that forum from appearing in my "unread posts"?
Do I have to block them individually using the "Ignore thread" button?
Active links are now (after 13/04/2018) indicated by bold red italics. Just click on them.
The only stupid question is the one not asked

Just ignore them.

I keep my unreads down to a page  and it really doesn't take long to skim through and look at the ones that are of interest. When you've looked at those, just click the 'mark all messages as read'.

Just click on the "un-notify" button on the topic that do not interest you anymore.

Just to clarify, macwil ~

Is it a particular Board (you say forum) or particular threads on any board?

It is the complete forum (board) that I don't want cluttering up my 'unread posts'.
I sometimes don't log in for several days and end up with about 10 pages. I currently do as suggested and skim then mark as read but it can be a pain when a substantial no. are from that particular board (which shall remain nameless).
I have never been interested in any of the posts so 'un-notify' is not relevant.

I mark them as 'ignore' rather than 'read' then they don't reappear when someone posts on them.

I have not been on here for over a week and returned to a couple of pages of 'unread posts'

It never occurred to me to attempt to read all "Unread Posts". Usually I just click on the "Replies" bit of the "Replies/Views" column heading. This brings up all the threads that have received no replies, or very few replies, and I focus on those, on the basis that all the others are already being progressed.

I tend to select the box at the top of the column which ticks all the posts on the page then just scan down the page and untick anything I may be interested in helping with or reading.  That generally eliminates at least 2/3rds of them I then select ignore.
