hello can anyone hazard a guess why labour 6 weeks might be a cause of death as shown on this cert?

Well it surely can’t mean childbirth, was it a woman?
Six weeks, unless there were complications from the seventh month but that seems impossible even with those false labour pains are they Braxton Hicks?

The only other explanation was hard labour in the sense of hard work which a consumptive person would not be fit to carry out.

Aren't there two commas missing?

"Labour, 6 weeks acute tuberculosis, 4 weeks certified."

Or it could be labour 6 weeks [ago] and she died of acute TB postpartum? Has a birth been looked for?

Not sure about that  :-\ The number of weeks refers to how long the condition lasted, so if commas were to be inserted surely it should read (odd as it seems) labour 6 weeks, acute tuberculosis 4 weeks, certified?

The only other possibilities that I can think of are an antepartum (pre-partum) haemorrhage or a late miscarriage with bleeding continuing for 6 weeks.

This could be caused by many things and the bleeding might not have been continuous.

Add - also preeclampsia  but not described as such.

There are no commas, or other punctuation marks, on any death certificate I've seen.  (The duration of illness, if stated, would always come after the description.)  Here are two examples from 1899 and 1989 with more than one cause of death listed.
