Conway/McAssey
« on: Saturday 06 July 19 04:05 BST (UK) »
I am looking for a marriage for Thomas Conway and Ellen McAssey. Their son Thomas was born on the 29th December 1861 and Baptised on the 1st January 1862 in the Parish of Bagenalstown, Diocese of Kildare and Leighlin. A son John was born on the 9th April 1864 followed by James on the 30th March 1867. I don't know if Thomas was the first born child or if there were any other children.

Kind Regards
Carol Thomson

See a Michael Macasey baptised on 20th January 1839 ;parents Thomas Macasey and Eliza Walsh, sponsors James Walsh and Emma Brophy.Address is given as Ballyellen which is where it looks like "your" Conway family were residing according to death enteries and 1901/1911 census

Might be the same family.
Ok just realised that its Conway and not Macassey

Thank you Noland01, I have quickly gone through the Baptism records I possibly might have found a baptismal record for a Margaret Barron in 1832. Margaret Barron is my gg.grandmother and her daughter Anne married Thomas Conway. Other names also related to my family tree also popped up Brophy and Kehoe/Keogh. I might also have found a baptism for an Ellen McAsey on the 29th Jan 1830 in Carlow, Carlow and Kildare.

Thank you for your help.

That marriage was on 4 May, 1852 in the Catholic Parish of Dunleckney, townland Ballyellen and can be found here; https://registers.nli.ie/registers/vtls000634458#page/54/mode/1up, at the NLI Catholic Register. Incidentally I have two more baptisms; Bridget Conway, 11 February 1855, and James Conway, 22March, 1857 in addition to the baptisms you mentioned in your post. There may be more, these are just what I have now. These will be in the Dunleckney Baptismal Registers in the NLI collection as well.
