There are 2 possibilities, both on Commonwealth War Graves Commission website:

3447958 Fusilier James Wright    1/8th Bn. Lancashire Fusiliers
Died between 30th May 1940 and 2nd June 1940, age 25
Commemorated at Dunkirk Memorial

4468612 Fusilier James Wright    10th Bn. Lancashire Fusiliers
Died 17th June 1944   age 22
Buried at Delhi War Cemetery
Son of John Percy and Alice Wright, of Scarborough
Garrad (Suffolk, Essex, Somerset), Crocker (Somerset), Vanstone (Devon, Jersey), Sims (Wiltshire), Bridger (Kent)

The rank of sergeant is abbreviated Sgt., but fusilier generally means a private in an infantry regiment.

thanks everyone for your replies the J WRIGHT im after was alive in 1937 as he was presented with a pocket watch by members of the sjts mess  i have that watch in my possession and i wish to return it to his family if i can locate them i think might have lived in SALFORD area

As he was presented with a watch, it may have been to mark his retiral or a significant milestone in his army career. Therefore likely to have been older than either individual in reply #2.  He may have re-enlisted in WW2.
Btw there is free access to military records on Ancestry this week.
