Probably means there was more Smith family in the USA.

Smith's on a passenger list to New York on the G B Lamar 1855 - including Henry 36 years (son)- Mary Ann 28 years - James 6 years - Maria 4 years - Henry 2 years - and 2 names above Henry were Ann Smith aged 74 years (mother)  and Ann Smith aged 34 years (daughter) -   ???
There were other Smith listed below them -  could they be more relatives  ??? Those names were Wm Smith aged 32 years - Lucy aged 30 years - Mary Smith aged 4 years - John Smith aged 1 year - David inf - Ann Inf
