Help with a signature
« on: Sunday 07 July 19 17:01 BST (UK) »
Hi
I have two signatures that I can't decipher. Can anyone help?
The top one is from someone in Norway. What I can see is "With kind regards to Miss Smyth. Sincerely yours .............." The first letter of the first name is, I guess, an S.
The second is an English name, I presume. The letter ends "Trusting you will be satisfied with my effort, I remain, Yours faithfully ............... " The first letter of the surname could be a B because I think the address is 1B Wintergatan.

Many thanks

Hi

Second one I would probably go with 'F J Dowdeswell'

Not sure about the first one, maybe Kaja or Kija Giel (something...)

Dowdeswell looks right.

The other one looks like Gielmingden - but I've never heard of that name (although a google search throws up a few spelling variants).

Well done Philip and Ruth you got me there it's Kaja Geelmuyden. Confirmed by linking to the right address.
Ruth, I think you may be right about the second signature but I haven't found a confirmation yet. Maybe it is not quite right.
Many thanks for your help.
Jay

Thanks Ian, yes that is her. Worked in a Magistrates office - that would make sense.
Many thanks
