John Williams ,Conway

HI ,
MMMh ? a missing piece of jig-saw .
I have
               Thomas Williams & wife Ann, they have several children  one being
 John Williams (b) 1841 in Conway.   (my G-G-Grandfather).
He grows up ... occupation is a painter  ( not an artist). at least i dont think so 
He then marries Ann Evans in 1873 in Conway.
         John & Ann have 2 children ......
   (1) ..George Osborne Edwin ,born about 1873 ish, (my g-granfather)
   (2) ...Ann Jane , born about  1876 ish

  However in  1881 Census onwards  George & Ann Jane are in Bangor living with Their Uncle and Aunts,................I have records on George & Ann Jane onwards ,
But it's the parents , no sign of John & Ann Evans..which means they dissapeared from  1877 ish to 1881.
Did they die from health reasons ? or perhaps an accident  or maybe a crime  (minds working overtime ).   I can't seem to find a hint on them 2.
