In the 1861 census, 55 Spencer Street is in piece 2714, folio 16 page 25. The occupant is a tailor from Cornwall - James Allmen or Hillmen or something similar. He had moved on by August 1861 as the house was re-let then. It was re-let again in 1862 and 1868.

Many thanks. The record doesn't come up in FindMyPast. So near and yet so far.
Another mystery on the marriage record is the signature of Lizzie Bayley, A name has been crossed out  in the middle of the signature. Can anybody decipher what it might be and why it has been written and then crossed out?
