Stirlingshire Motor Transport - Kilsyth

The above was a bus company operated by a George Jameison until about 1924 when they were bought out by Walter Alexander & Sons ltd.  I am searching for any information that may be available concerning either the company or Mr. Jamieson.

I don't have access to the British Newspaper Archives online www.britishnewspaperarchive.co.uk but, if you do, there is this entry in the Kilsyth Chronicle 13 May 1921 for example, a snip from that:

STIRLINGSHIRE MOTOR TRANSPORT

... STIRLINGSHIRE MOTOR TRANSPORT COMPANY CHARABANCS FOR HIRE at Moderate Charges. Apply:— JAMIESON, 2 KING STREET, or ai THE CROSS KEYS, KILSYTH. ...

I think this (George) Jamieson may also have been a publican in Kilsyth in that time period (Cross Keys name of Public House?). Further references in the Stirlingshire newspapers referencing this.

From the Valuations Rolls for 1920 on www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk there is this entry:

Tenant Occupier
PUBLIC HOUSE 6 PARKFOOT STREET BURGH OF KILSYTH

With that reference to 2 King Street in the Kilsyth Advertiser, the 1920 Valuations Rolls show a Lucy Jamieson as a tenant at that address (there are other tenants).

There is a possible marriage in the Blythswood area of Glasgow in 1903 between a Lucy Meeks and a George Jamieson.

There is a very likely entry for them in Kilsyth in the 1911 census (just from the general index):

Edith Jamieson 5

You can from all of this trace further George's life hopefully. You might be possibly be researching the Company specifically and looking for some general background?
