Hi,
My grandfather was Charles Robert LAWN, born in 1880 at Somerleyton, Nr Belton.  He went to school at Belton, and his parents Clement Waters Lawn / Martha Mary Ann Lawn nee Gilbert, kept a post office and shop, possibly also at Somerleyton.  He moved from Norfolk to Oxford, where he met his wife, Sally I believe that they were both in service there, and after WW1 (after serving in the Oxford & Bucks Light Infantry). moved. to Kings Sutton Nr. Banbury. He was killed in a motor accident at Banbury in 1950.

Charles was one of nine / tenchildren. There were four brothers and four sisters. One brother, William, died at Gorleston bet. 1954 & 1956.   Thomas went away, (not known where).

Two of the sisters were Annie, who lived in Norwich and died in her 70-80ís, and Caroline who lived in Toft Monks, Nr.Beccles.  As far as I am aware she had no children.

Annie had 1 son only, Clement, & married a SMITH.

Charles Robert Lawn was born 19/2/1879 Fritton, Suffolk and Fritton is where the Post Office was.

He married Sarah Elizabeth Cadd (born 27/1/1888 Kings Sutton, Northamptonshire) in 1920 Brackley, Northamptonshire (Sally is a pet name of Sarah).   Their 3 children all born Brackley (1921, 1923 and 1926) and they all married in Brackley too.  They lived at Red Lion Street, Kings Sutton (came under Brackley reg. district).  Since the 3 children all married Brackley too are you sure the family actually moved to Banbury itself?   Since Banbury close to Kings Sutton I would imagine Charles' accident was there and why his death was reg'd in Banbury whilst the family home was actually in Kings Sutton.

You omitted one of Charles Robert Lawn's siblings - a Herbert George b.1867 Fritton - he seems to 'vanish' after 1881 census.   I note that Thomas William still single, a stableman in Cheveley, Cambs. in 1901 and then he too appears to 'vanish'.

Hello Annette and others,
Not sure who this is going to but many thanks for your response.
Thomas Campbell Lawn, Died aged 7 yrs, was the brother of Clement Waters Lawn. Parents were John Lawn and Amy nee Campbell.
Charles Robert, my grandfather, was killed whilst riding his bike in Banbury. The registration district for BMD Kings Sutton is Brackley, hence the confusion. You are correct about death being registered in Banbury. Our family lived in Kings Sutton.
I too have the Cheveley connection and have found an Electoral Register for a Thomas William Lawn living in Norwich 1915.
Clement William, known as William, moved to Gorleston with his Mother, Caroline Maria and Charles Robert after the death of Clement Waters Lawn. They are all on the 1911 Census.
I wasn't sure about marriage of Caroline so thanks for that. Just need to find the paperwork now. I too have no further info on Herbert George, except that my father had the same name, and that there is a Herbert George Lawn in the Norwich Electoral Register for 1912. Not known if the same person.
I have photos of Martha, Charles Robert, and three of the brothers whom I am unable to identify.
They were taken at Yarmouth and London.
James Charles died in 1894, 31 yrs. Buried 27.7.1894 @ Southwold.
May I ask your connection, if any, to this particular line of the Lawn name?
I have a gedcom tree which is work in progress. It is a Microsoft Family Tree file, but can be uploaded to other programmes I am told.

Kinf Regards,

David

Your original question is a bit vague. You asked for "any info".
Can you be a bit more specific on what you are requesting?
