John Henry McMurray
« on: Thursday 25 July 19 10:14 BST (UK) »
I am trying to find family by the name of McMurray who were born/moved between Belfast area and Co. Down (Crossbar/Downpatrick). The family have little knowledge and this is all they have.
John Henry McMurray (known as Jack) was a director with McVickers on Woodvale Road (Who are McVicars??). He had daughters Netta and Lily, sons Sam and Moses. Moses was a naval architect and helped design HMS Leander and HMS Fearless. His son Sam married Mary Agnes Faloon.

The only birth I can find is Moses - born 1912 - mother Susan Kane.

Everything else is a mystery!
Can anyone help? please .........

It should be incredibly easy to find details of this family so I suspect you haven't really looked for them in the places you should.

The birth for Francis Thomas McMurray posted earlier has mother as Annie Kane not Susan Kane.

We have no way of knowing that you've already found everything we've posted when you've only said "The only birth I can find is Moses - born 1912 - mother Susan Kane" ? If you post links to what you have found we won't waste time searching for all of it only to be told you've already found it.

Since the parents married in 1909, have 1 child in 1911, and Moses is born 1912 it's likely that 'Sam', 'Netta' and 'Lily' were younger. Have you searched for them in both Irish Genealogy civil records and GRONI's database? Remember that both sites should only 1st Christian name. Sam could be Samuel, Lily might be Elizabeth or Lillian and Netta could be Nettie or Annette or Janetta or a completely different name.

Son John Henry born 1910-

Using GRONI first then Irish Genealogy- it looks like Lily is Elizabeth-
Elizabeth McMurray 1st October 1913 mother- Kinghan
Sam is Samuel-
Samuel McMurray 10th December 1915 mother- Keenan
Netta?
Evelyn McMurray 6th June 1918 mother- Kinghan

Elizabeth- https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/birth_returns/births_1913/01433/1587739.pdf
Samuel-

Evelyn Susan McMurray- https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/birth_returns/births_1918/01274/1528390a.pdf
