Posting of Carnmoney Presbyterian baptisms 1799-1867
« on: Thursday 25 July 19 18:59 BST (UK) »
I just discovered DixieDee's postings of the Carnmoney Presbyterian baptisms.  Can someone explain where she found this wonderful information?  Was it from the PRONI, and if so, the McKinney Notebooks?
She states she has "nothing" for the years 1824-32 (exactly the period I need to see!).  What does this mean? Are these baptism years missing completely from the church records or has she simply not transcribed them yet.

Many thanks for answers to this my first posting

As far as I can remember, he took the details from the church registers or the microfilm but it was quite a while ago so I could be mistaken. PRONI's Guide to Church Records shows what they have microfilmed-

Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

Thank you aghadowey for your rapid response. Im not sure how to respond to you directly as I am
new to this forum and just learning how to use it.

I have checked the on line PRONI records for Carnmoney and discovered the BMD records are only available in person (no films available yet).

So I am moving on to general graveyard searching questions I hope to have help with

I know my Carnmoney Presbyterian Church McIlwaine ancestors were born AND buried (according to 19th century  Belfast newsletter entries in the "carnmoney burying grounds"). So what is the current name of this cemetery? Is it Presbyterian or COI?

I have searched "Find a grave" on line for these names in  Carnmoney with no success.  But I don't know if their 'carnmoney cemetery"  listing is for Presbyterian or COI and if these listings are complete.

Any advice on how I can determining g the name and denomination and status of recording for all the cemeteries in Carnmoney would be most gratefully appreciated.

I think there might be a bit of confusion regarding the Carnmoney Presbyterian baptisms.

I was at PRONI today looking at Ballylinney Presbyterian church baptisms held under the reference CR/3/16A/1.  I believe these records held in PRONI are transcriptions of the Ballylinney baptismal register made by McKinney.  The records I was looking for are held in the Ballylinney transcriptions yet they are listed under the Carnmoney baptisms on this website.  It appears records for 2 churches, Carnmoney and Ballylinney may have been mixed together.  Ballylinney church only came into existence in the 1830s so some of the baptisms listed on this site must have came from the Carnmoney registers and others from the Ballylinney registers.

Does anyone know where the actual Carnmoney Presbyterian baptisms covering the period from 1800 up to 1850 can be found?
