Burials at St John the Baptist Church, Bridgwater
« on: Sunday 28 July 19 16:36 BST (UK) »
Mary Ann Codrington died aged 58 in Jan/Mar 1874 in Bridgwater.

Is she buried in St John the Baptist Church's graveyard?

If so, please advise date of burial, and if anyone else was buried in the same grave.

Her widower husband John Codrington died aged 81 in Jan/Mar 1894 in Bridgwater  He was not buried in Bristol Road (St Johns) Cemetery which opened in 1878 so maybe he joined Mary Ann wherever she was buried.

If so, is there a plot/grave number?

For some reason, Somerset Trust has not published the burial registers of St John the Baptist Church, Bridgwater in Ancestry.com.

Somerset Archives and Local Studies Service in Taunton holds burial registers for Bridgwater St John up to 1867.  The remainder are kept at the Church at which burials stopped in 1913 (except for one in 1921 and one in 1932).  I asked Revd Lis Sparrow if she would deposit the old parish registers at Somerset Archives and Local Studies Service.  Let us pray!

hello, i am in the town, i know where the church and graveyard is
on another website, i have found the names on records,
it suggests they are there, however no photo is supplied,
this could be because either there is a memorial plaque or stone or
cremation, or possibly if they were not identified at the time ?

when i am passing in the daytime, i will try and take a look in the grounds
or even inside ,
regards
