Samuel family near Edinburgh

I am researching my grandfather's roots and hoping to make contact with possible relatives in Scotland.

Parents. James and Janet Samuel
Emigrated to Cape Breton, Nova Scotia Canada 1902
Occupation. Coal Miner
Married Emma Barry, Port Hood, Nova Scotia on February 07, 1910 in Stellarton, Nova Scotia and lived in Port Hood, Balls Creek and finally settling in New Waterford, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia.
Enlisted and served as a Sergeant and Captain in the Canadian Army March 26, 1915
Died March 13, 1945
Buried at Union Grove Cemetary, Scotchtown, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia (Gravestone says he was born in Glasgow in 1882. Military documents shows born in Edinburgh in 1883).

We were contacted by phone in the 80's by Ronnie Samuel who I believe was his nephew in Edinburgh, Scotland.

Any information, potential relatives, contacts, photos, etc would be greatly appreciated.

On the 1881 Scottish census in Kirkliston is the family
James Samuel 1841 Stirlingshire - slater

Isabella 1870 (her baptism is on FamilySearch.org as Isabella Black Samuel with mother Janet Brand)
Janet T. 1872 Stirlingshire (her baptism on FamilySearch.org as Janet Taylor 04 Sep 1871)
John 1874 Stirlingshire (his patism 10 Jun 1873 Falkirk)
Jane 1876 Stirlingshire
Andrew 1878 Kirkliston
Mary 1880 Kirkliston.

There is a birth for Andrew Samuel Aug 30 1877 on ScotlandsPeople with father James Samuel, master slater and mother Janet Brand with marriage July 13 1869 Kirkliston.

Seems a match to your Andrew but a slight discrepancy in years.

by 1891 Robert and Matthew Samuel had been added to the family.  Believe Matthew died in 1897.

Mary seems to have married William Spiers and their potential daughter Mary Dorothy with married name of Moore died 09 Jun 1948 Pontiac Oakland Michigan.  Her birth is shown as 01 Nov 1911 Kirkliston, Scotland.

FamilySearch.org has the 1861 census for Kirkliston.
There is a family of Brand
Andrew 37 slater, wife Isabella 35 and children
Andrew Janet (1845), David, Robert Matthew, Isabella.  The names reflect the names of the children of Janet Samuel.  Perhaps this is her family prior to her 1869 marriage to James. 
There is a marriage between Andrew Brand and Isabella Black 15 May 1845 Kirkliston.  The middle name of Janet Samuel's daughter was Black so ties in with this family.
