Probably not connected, but I have BOLER / BOWLER in Oxfordshire and Berkshire back to about 1758.

Hi Carol,
No connection as you mentioned as mine are North or USA/Canada/Australia.
Just as a matter of interest my "Boler" came from a John "Butcher" Bowler b. 1733 Nottingham.  His children were down as Boler and later he was down as Boaler/Bowler/Boler.  Back in Norman england there is a mention of Bouler who came to the UK and it is supposed it changed down the centuries to Bowler.  The changes in surname are down what people heard and mispelt.  My g.father said centuries ago they came from Germany and namely Bohler.
