2/7 Middlesex Regiment
« on: Wednesday 31 July 19 15:37 BST (UK) »
I've recently inherited my grandfather's Italy Star and am very interested in learning more about him, unfortunately he died before I was born so I have very little information on him and only 2 pictures of him in uniform. he served between 1933 - 1946.
Any information would be gratefully received  :)

And a warm welcome to Rootschat from me.

According to http://www.steppingforwardlondon.org/7th-battalion-the-duke-of-cambridges-own-middlesex-regiment.html the 2nd/7th battalion was in North Africa in 1943 then fought through Sicily, Salerno, Anzio and up to the Gothic Line in Northern Italy.

The service record would give details of dates, locations and any promotions - see the link provided by rosie99.
