.The couple are definitely my direct descendants but I am stumped on Williams parents Thomas and Ann Hart.

How do you know that Thomas and Ann are the parents of William?

Correction it is Dudley Parish Worcestershire.

Looking at the records for Dudley : St Thomas :  Worcestershire on freereg for the name Hart.
There was one baptism in 1670 and one in 1795, then more regular events from 1812

The records on Family Search are similar. Records start later on FindMyPast.  Ancestry thinks Dudley is in Staffordshire.

At the time of their marriage they were both about 18, I can only imagine that they left their families to find accommodation in Dudley and returned to Walsall: St Matthew about 7 miles away to get married, it just sounds a little strange for that period of time.

In 1637 an order of the constable of Walsall Borough was made to guard entrances to town & prevent the admission of strangers without a certificate as a precaution against PLAGUE.

No burials in Walsall for Thomas & Ann but they were recorded in the period. Some interesting burials there, including Sarah, William & others, all on freereg.

Sarah HART   Age 69 (1754)   Burial 08 Jan 1823   Abode New St.   Walsall : St Matthew :

No baptism for Emma but William & Elizabeth had a Sarah baptised in 1821, abode New St.

William may have married Sarah WARDELL 1892 Handsworth.

Just looking at the early part of your post, I noticed that Trish had already mentioned the births

SARAH Hart 08 Jan 1823 age 69 (1754), abode New Street
WILLIAM Hart 09 Oct 1825 age 73 (1752), abode New Street

I must have got the abode crossed with the 10 month old William who was buried 13 Jul 1825
