Death Record for Anna Maria Staines (Stines) in Galveston Tx
« on: Friday 02 August 19 21:21 BST (UK) »
Family stories claim that this child died of yellow fever. She was born March 6, 1853 and died before the 1860 census. The Galveston newspapers ran a "yellow fever report" listing the dead and the date of death. I've searched a few of these papers online. Mostly GDN. We believe she was buried in Galveston and later exhumed and brought to Chambers County when the family moved in 1878/79. This could also be a family "tall tale". The family is listed in 1880 census of Chambers County. Lets hope that a record like this survived the 1900 storm.
