This reminds me of an incident when I was a child, maybe about 9 years old. My grandfather had this book of puzzles & conundrums and one day I remember he asked me.  A man was looking at a picture on the wall and asked "if that man's father was my father's son who was he?"

This was from a grandfather who gave me a huge Chambers Dctionary when I was 8 years old!

Judy

This one one that my Father asked us too when we were young...A man points to a photograph of a young man and says to his friend...."Brothers and Sisters have I none, but that man's is my Father's Son" Who is the man in the photo? If I remember correctly it was a photo of himself.

Another one he used to ask us was Which is the greater, six dozen dozen or half a dozen dozen?

Also, which is the correct grammar, The yolk of an egg is white or the yolk of an egg are white?

Surely son in law.
Theresa’s daughter is my daughter’s mother ,means  Theresa’s daughter is his wife and  so his daughter’s mother ,hence his wife’s mother Theresa is his mother in  law.
I think— Viktoria.

Supposing you are meant to choose an option from the op's list - daughter, as son-in-law isn't on the list of options  :-\

Hi all, apparently 97% of answers are incorrect ( Still trying to work it out myself)!

It's obvious to me - the 3% who answered correctly were genealogists.

Not surprising especially when you hear people say things like 'my fathers father' or 'my mothers sister' which I've heard quite often.

Soooo...are we going to be given the correct answer?  :D :D

Substituting words might help.............I think?

If Teresa's daughter is (my daughters mother), what am I to Teresa?

If Teresa's daughter is (me), what am I to Teresa?

I am Teresa's daughter.

pointing to a photograph......

Brothers and Sisters have I none, but that man's father is my Father's Son

Brothers and Sisters have I none, but that man's father is (me / my brother)

I have no brother or sisters..........That man's father is me.

That man is my son.
