McKay - Banffshire, Scotland.
« on: Monday 05 August 19 08:27 BST (UK) »
Hello again all. Hope we are all fine on this Monday morning? I am trying to trace a death record for Innes McKay who was b.1891 in the Macduff area of what was then Banffshire, Scotland. This was my Grandad's Father and we were always told he died in 1926 aged 35 but have so far found no trace of his death or burial. He was from a long line of fishermen/trawlermen so it is possible he died at sea. He married Margaret Ann Watson in 1912 and my Grandad (an only child), also Innes McKay was born in 1919.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in anticipation!
Jason.

Rosie99 yes that must be him. His parents were Andrew Innes McKay and Elsie West. I don't suppose you have a burial record or cause of death from that do you?
The family definitely lived on Crook o' Ness St, Macduff.

Since the record is on Scotlandspeople you will need to pay to access the image if you want to see the cause of death. Index information is free but you need to buy credits to see copies of the records.

Hi Craclyn,

Yes I thought that. Alternatively the local churches/parish records may have the details of place of burial?

I don't have any credits on that site but believe this is the charge

Statutory registers of births (older than 100 years), marriages (older than 75 years) and deaths (older than 50 years) cost 6 credits (£1.50)

Hi have you checked with the local council or a local family history society or Decreased online they may hold burial records
