I was replying that he was the same one that was mentioned in the previous post 

I have ordered the marriage certificate so will see if this William is the correct one

Maybe an indication that the marriage broke down quite early on (assuming it's the right couple):

In brief - Elizabeth Porteus and George Brown of 25 Tanner Street who were living as man and wife, were prosecuted for claiming they were married in order to obtain"out-relief". If the Guardians had known they were not married they would have been sent to the workhouse!
