Is she Penelope Diana Woollam bpt 29 April 1783, Wrexham, d of Charles and Penelope Woollam

They also had another Penelope Diana bpt 11 August 1781 (born 23 Feb 1781) . No burial record found.

She would also be quite old for a first marriage (33).

Yes, that must be her although I wasn't aware of her middle name, Diana.

Her father, Charles Woollam had married Penelope Barber in 1777 and had four children.  Penelope Diana was the eldest child.  The mother died in 1796 and Charles married Elizabeth Ward from Bruton, Somerset.  Elizabeth was the daughter of George Ward, a silk mill owner in Bruton.  The Woollam family eventually went on to own silk mills in St Albans (Abbey Mills).

I think Charles Woollam died in 1813 although I haven't yet found details of his birth.  I'm guessing he may have been 20+ years older than his second wife Elizabeth.

Charles and Penelope had two other children, both sons: Charles 1788 and John 1790.

Charles Woollam must have died before 22 Feb 1798 as his will was proved then. It mentions his stepsons Samuel Barber & Watkin Robert Barber, his brother Thomas and his children Charles, John & Penelope all under 21 in 1796. No mention I've spotted of wife Elizabeth. It's a Prerogative Court of Canterbury will and available via Ancestry.

Burial in Chirk 13 December 1797 for Charles Woollam, mercer.

Thanks for all this information.  I just found the Charles Woollam will.  I got details of his marriage to Penelope and his children from the Burke's family record and I misread some of the details.  Burke's says Charles Woollam died 1796 which is in line with the will.  It also says he married Penelope Barber, widow of D Barber and that she died 1813.  Some inconsistencies here in Burkes.

I do have this marriage record for Elizabeth Ward marrying a Charles Woollam in Bruton in 1801, so I'm now wondering who this Charles Woollam was!

Yes I have Edward Burges & wife Ellen (nee Parry) living in Clifton, Bristol in 1851, so Penelope was likely visiting her daughter when she died in 1855....thanks for identifying the death index.

I have Charles Woollam junior born 1788 but I'm not confident my source is accurate....thanks for providing the baptism details.
