track down family of F/Lt G.S.Johnson DFC and Bar
« on: Sunday 11 August 19 11:15 BST (UK) »
For a proposed memorial unveiled 8th Febr 2020 I trying to track down the family of a Leicester warhero F/Lt Gerard Stansfield Johnson. He was the Son of Arthur and Emily Mary Johnson ,of Leicester. F/Lt G.S.Johnson was the Bombaimer of a Lancaster crew of Lancaster ND961 who took part in a raid on Ladbergen(Dortmund Ems canal) on 8th Febr 1945. Over Holland ND961 collided with Lancaster PB181 and both crashed which took the lives of total 15 crewmembers among them G.Johnson. Sadly I have no further info about his birthplace and/or date.

Regards,
Adrian van Zantvoort

Hi Ray,  Many Thanks for the info. I have already the info you send which I took from the CWGC wargrave register but not the birth and marriage of his parents. Many Thanks for that. I hope that the end result is that we get in touch with his family.
Cheers,
Adrian

Many Thanks Ray for all your trouble and contribution which is fantastic!!!  I haven't access to Anc but I am gratefull that you left a message to the thread. Sad to hear that his twinbrother Bryan died in 2017, his Wife in 1997 and their only son in 2000. What a tragedy.  Hopefully you have luck to get in touch with a familymember or close relative or distant.

Cheers,
Adrian
