Second husband
Johan Heinrich Stier born in Germany.  It appears he changed his name when he came to Canada to John Henry Stier.  No marriage has been found.
Death 09 Feb 1922, Ontario, Canada.  He is resting in section 19 Lot 880 along with Martha and her 3rd husband Hubertus.  He also has a Will which is probate.  Need to look into getting this.  There is an interesting story called Finding Joh Henry, Mary Bradford – Stories/Nostalgia. I have a copy of this.

Death
Martha died on 14 may 1938 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, she was 70 year old.  Her resting place is section 19, Lot 880, Prospect Cemetery. 1450 St Clair Avenue West, Toronto.  Also in this plot are Hubertus McGuire and John Henry Stier her second and third husbands.

I have her Will which is 16 pages long and a wealth of information.  Lots of name to find out about that she left Canadian Dollars to.

To this date I still have not found a marriage to Stier for her.  I am trying to prove if she was bigamist like her Father of Divorced John Dobb Pool. 

Martha was vice-president of the International General Assembly of Spiritualist.  In England she held an executive position the National Spiritualists Union.  I am keen to find out more about this.

Must remarry later - according to border crossing (18/8/1950) on a visit to Lily Penninton in Sterling Illinois. Mary was Mary Jane Carpenter with a husband Edmund Kenneth Carpenter - 10 Bradley Avenue Toronto.

I have found no concrete evidence that she married a Stier or that they are her a
children.  I believe that he was married before.

Canadian Passenger List 1914 - shows Lily Stier 18 years. Mary Jane Stier 16 years. John Hy Stier aged 53 years and probably Martha Stier aged 47 years (passenger list cuts off) also listed Harriet Stier aged 28.

Looks like Harriet Steer was born Ecclesall Bierlow Yorkshire 1887 - 9c 368.
GRO gives mother as Staniland.

Mary Jane and Lily are apparently registered with MMN Groves (GRO).

There is a marriage on FreeBMD in York RD in 1879 with a John Henry Stier and a Mary Jane Groves on the same page.

Both Edmund and Mrs Edmund Carpemter listed at 1069 Dufferin Street Toronto in 1940 - plus a sighting of Mary Jane Carpenter on that border crossing 1950 listed earlier.
