The Ormsby family had a house at Cummeen, Coolera in the eighteenth century. Wilson noted it as the residence of John Ormsby in 1786, when he describes it as "a magniificent and beautiful seat". At the time of Griffith's Valuation the representatives of Charles Ormsby were leasing the house and land at Cumeen to William Phibbs who in turn leased the house to Alexander Wylie.

Thanks again, both.

I have seen the FS transcription but I would still like to know if this is the daughter of Alexander Wyl(l)ie at Cummin/Cumeen.

I've come across the marriage and death of Louisa Wyllie née Blackmore. I don't think her husband belongs to this family, because his father's name was Thomas, but I'll keep an open mind.

Daniel threw me a bit. The second son of Alexander Wyllie and Margaret Speid was David, and he would have been 42 in April 1868. However there is a listing of a death in Enniskillen of David Wylie, aged 41. No image yet :( but this looks about right.

Never trust anything you find online (especially submitted trees and transcriptions on Ancestry, MyHeritage, FindMyPast and other commercial web sites) unless it's an image of an original document - and even then be wary because errors can and do occur.

You can view the original certificate on-line on the GRONI website, using the “search registrations” option:

https://geni.nidirect.gov.uk

You will need to open an account and buy some credits. It costs £2.50 (sterling) to a view a certificate.

I found a similar announcement in the Londonderry Standard giving his name as David.

I notice that in 1869 an Alexander Wylie, son of Alexander Wylie, married Anne Carson in Enniskillen but of course there is no way of knowing that this is the correct Alexander Sr :(

Yes, I have an account and probably some stray credits - I don't look at it very often!
