There's a silly article about a pheasant crashing through a street car onto engineer Fred Gorst - https://www.newspapers.com/clip/34960048/

Son Fred W. is on an obituary index here - https://library.uoregon.edu/dc/newspaper/article.php?newspaper=oregonian&id=600411

Hi
There seem to be three voter cards for him at appx 10 year intervals? Different addresses, is that the reason?
His signature even on them may vary a bit, maybe got more flourished with the years.

The engineer thing is intriguing. If he was, say, a stationary engine engine driver or similar, I wonder if that would require a vast amount of engineering knowledge? :-\

Wish we knew when Frances died, but Rosie found her in 1953 (well done!)
And no Frederick found in 1940?

Good luck with your DNA match!
John
