Holland Loveridge Smith
« on: Sunday 18 August 19 20:34 BST (UK) »
I have searched everywhere and got nowhere. We have A Mary Ann possibly Burr,Holland,Loveridge or Smith born 1907 we know not where and dying 1966 near Gloucester,We Know she had a son Michael Holland known as Black Mike born around 1920 and dying Taunton in the 1980's.She then went on to have a son Johnny Loveridge 1926 who also died in Taunton in the 1980s.Then we move forward to 1935 where she has a son Teddy Smith on his birth cert it says mothers maiden name Burr and he died about 2005 in Sedgmoor Somerset.he was born in Barnstaple.registered as Teddy Smith known as Abey and by his marriage last 1970's he is Edwin Smith!!He also had a sister Mary born about 1939.we can find no birth reg for Mary Ann ?? or her first two sons or her daughter.Mary Ann was buried under the name of Mary Ann Smith!!There are no marriage records. She was living around Somerset with all her children in the 1940's and 1950's and early 1960's doing field work.Black Mike Holland worked mainly in Taunton doing odd jobs for old age pensioners and living we think in a tent.Johnny loveridge was always known as Johnny B.any help at all would be greatly appreciated.

There is a Mary Ann Elizabeth Burr born Jun 1907 Hackney mothers maiden name Bash.

You could look for her on census even if just to rule her out.

Am guessing the birth year comes from her age at death?

There is a Mary birth in Mar 1940 with mothers maiden name Burr.  Different surname and place.

She could still be living (unless you know otherwise) so won't post the full name.
You can search for it on Free BMD index using MMN and year.

Might not be her but worth a second look.

Milliepede,

That child died the same quarter. The 1907 one, I mean. You posted in between.

The Johnny Loveridge who died 1988 Taunton (John W Loveridge. Birth date 18 may 1926)
John W Loveridge mmn Fury

1939 John W is with mum (Mary) and dad John Loveridge in a caravan in Martley Worcs, different birth date.

John Loveridge snr married Mary Fury June 1920 in Pontypool

Searching for children of this marriage doesn’t produce, Michael, Teddy or Mary  :-\

In any case the above Mary was born 1893, making her 46 when Mary was born in 1939

A birth in 1919 would mean Mary Ann was only 12 when he was born!!!   Surely she must have been born before 1907?

The only Mary Smith b.1907 who died 1966 Gloucestershire was a plain Mary Smith reg'd Dec.1866 Cirencester (not a Mary Ann)?

There in no death entry for a Teddy/Abey/Edwin Smith b.1935 around 2005 Somerset??
