Help to find g/g/g/grandfather
« on: Wednesday 21 August 19 02:57 BST (UK) »
Hello all I’m trying to find g/g/g/grandfather’s birth and marriage, I believe they married in Bristol England in 1820, William Parsons I think his wife was Anne Jones and the only child that I can find to them is my g/g/grandfather John Parsons, according to his death certificate he was born abt. 1822 in Bristol England and died in 1895, he spent 10 years in Bristol, 8 years In Tasmania and remaining years in Victoria. Could anyone help to what happened to William and Ann Parsons, did they have any other children or any information at all, will be muchly appreciated

Welcome to rootschat.
I have looked at marriages for William Parsons in Bristol and found 2 with an Ann - Ann Vicarey  7/8/1815 and Ann Jones   7/12/1820.
There are also 7 baptisms for Bristol for 1819-1829 for William and Ann Parsons but it could be either couple.

I assume you have John's death notice?

"PARSONS - On the 9th July, at Dover-road Williamstown, John Parsons, dearly beloved husband of Agnes Parsons, aged 74. A colonist of 55 years."

Thank you very much for all replies, on Johns death certificate it states he was born at Bristol England, 8yrs in Tasmania and 55 yrs in Victoria, also states he was married at Windsor Victoria to an Agnes Smith his second wife in 1880, nil children to that marriage. His first wife was Elizabeth Hines, who died 1873 in Victoria, they had 8 children. Was John convicted and transported to Tasmania or migrated with his parents, but cannot find anything on William or Ann. Once again thank you to everyone for all your help.
